1. If it's an open space, keep the space between the living & dining open
Having an adjacent living & dining room presents several options for layout. Enter the TV placement decision and how best to view it, and options for layout become limited. Often, the easiest option becomes to put the sofa in the center of the room facing the TV wall. This works well for large open spaces, but if your space is small, its best to keep the space between the living and dining room open, even if the TV placement is not ideal.
2. Use Light Furniture and "Lift" them off the floor
Small spaces need sleeker furniture, and the more you can keep your floors clear the better. Try to lift furniture off the floor. E.g. hanging TV units and hanging shelves. This extra floor view helps create an illusion of more space.
3. Mirrors can do magic for a small space
Mirrors can enlarge your space in 2 ways: first they simply create the illusion of more space but also bounce light around making the space feel larger.
